In 1961, the magical gates to Happy Hollow were opened. Join us in celebrating 40 years of safe, affordable family entertainment, conservation, education and fun! Throughout 2001, we will be offering $1.00 admission on the second Monday of every month.
There'll be a little surprise each month, too. Mark your calendar for the 1st few months -- January 8, February 12 and March 12. |

| Trick-or-Treat at the Hollow |

Safe Halloween fun for ghosts and goblins between the ages of 2-10. Candy and treat stations are set up throughout the Park and Zoo, giving the kids and adults the chance to explore Happy Hollow. Half-price Admission is given to all who come in costume, including adults. |

Calling all animal lovers! Pull yourself away from the table or out of the kitchen and join Happy Hollow Zoo's animals on Thanksgiving Day. Join the Staff as they feed special meals to all the animal residents. A very personal, fun, iteresting and intimate event. |

Happy Hollow Park and Zoo will be offering Free Admission in exchange for food that is donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Second Harvest Food Bank and its recipients need high protein, nonperishable foods.
Please no glass items. Preferred Items: Tuna, Powdered Milk, Meat Stews, Peanut Butter, Pasta and Chili. |

This is a unique breakfast offered to our animal adoption supporters. The Zoo gates are opened for Guests before regular operating hours and Guests have the opportunity to meet the Zoo Keepers, see where the animals spend time off-exhibit, peek behind the scenes, enjoy a continental breakfast and see the Zoo wake up! |

A unique after-hours celebration in the Zoo. The evening will be filled with fun for all ages including food, live music, wineries, behind-the-scenes, animal close-ups, children's activities and unique entertainment. |
Saturday Zoo Explorers
You'll find new and exciting ways for your child to learn in Happy Hollow zoo education classes. Classes are designed for ages 5-6 and are taught by trained zoo educators. Several live animals will make an appearance, helping to enhance the learning experience. Classes will also visit the zoo and focus on animals related to class topics.
These themed classes are especially designed to give ages 5-6 a special inside look at what goes on in the animal world. Class size limited to 16 children.
Leap, Crash, Smack! No, it's not a fight. It's a leap of leopards, a crash of rhinocerous and a smack of jellyfish. Some animals live alone, but many animals live in groups. Come see our mob of meerkats, our parade of pigs and frolic with our tribe of goats while learning about the family life of some of your favorite animals.
Session 3:
Saturday: November 18, 10:00am - noon
Hot Days, Cool Nights: Life isn't easy in a place that's hot, dry and dusty. With little water and not much shade, desert creatures have to come up with many clever ways to survive. Join us in discovering how animals, like meerkats, hunt for food, tortoises find water, and fennec foxes stay cool.
Session 9:

Zooper Kids

A wonderful way for your child to independently explore the world of animals in a safe, friendly environment. Topics for Zooper Kids are designed as a four-part series. Children must by potty trained. Class size limited to 16 children.
What's for Dinner?: Crunch, crunch, munch, munch . . . it's dinner time! Come and discover what animals like to eat, and watch as we give some delicious treats to our favorite Happy Hollow animals.

African Safari Adventure: Run with us, like cheetahs across the African savanahs, and learn about many African animals like elephants, giraffes and lions that will cross our path. Meet our newest African animal, the fennec fox, and discover why African animals are so "grrrrrrreat!"

Safety in Numbers: There's safety in numbers for a troop of monkeys, a herd of wild horses or a flock of macaws. Alone or in a group, animals need to survive. Explore the advantages of living in a large family and discover how they decide who's boss.
Session 4:
Saturday: November 18, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Life Under the Desert Sun: Imagine living where it's hot, dry and dusty. Where would you find water if you were an African-spurred tortoise? How would you stay cool if you were a fennec fox? Come investigate life in the desert with Happy Hollow's desert dwellers.

Junior Zoo Keepers
Do you want to be a Zoo Keeper? Here is your chance to see what it's like to work with the animals. We will explore conservation issues, study exhibit design, observe animal behavior, and learn to enrich the lives of our captive creatures. There will be opportunities for hands-on activities which allow the Jr. Keepers to interact with our education collection animals and work alongside Zoo Keepers and other members of Happy Hollow's staff. Students should be able to demonstrate responsible behavior towards the animals. Designed for ages 10 - 13.
Animal Architects: Are people the only animals that build fancy homes? Discover the architectural wonders of the animal kingdom. Learn how zoos transform animal enclosures into habitats, and test your skill at creating a naturalistic habitat for your favorite creature.
Session 8:
Saturday: January 20, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Family Fun
Come and discover the wonderful world of animals at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. For ages 5 - 9 years accompanied by an adult.
Winter Wonderland: Where does the wildlife that visits your backyard go during the winter? How do they find food and water? Could you help them during the cold winter months? Join us in discovering how wildlife survives the winter chill and how you can transform your backyard into their winter wonderland.
